But—at least for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere—this sweet spring-to-summer month is full of sun, friends, popsicles and sheer magic. If you ask me, it’s also a spectacular time of year for kids’ birthday parties: School’s out, the sun’s here and the ice cream truck’s singing its song just around the corner.

The researchers believe the differences could be due to sociocultural factors like nationality, but that more research on the topic is needed.

Whitney D.R., mom of two in Madeira Beach, Florida, says she’s thrown “Time to SHELLebrate,” “Waves FOUR days" and "Dive into FIVE” parties for her summer-loving June baby.

A pool party celebration is always a hit too. Eating pizza and cake by the pool was my favorite way to celebrate my June birthdays as a kid. Mandi S., mom and stepmom to four in Schriever, Louisiana, says this year her June-born daughter has requested “a glow-in-the-dark swimming party complete with glow sticks, black lights and neon swimsuits.” The possibilities are endless!
