<p>Leapmotor Australia has reverted to a shorter, six-year warranty for its 2025 model year C10 mid-size SUV – which is now available in both battery-electric (EV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) powertrains. </p> <p><a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/leapmotor" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leapmotor</a> – part of the Stellantis group which includes <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/jeep" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jeep</a>, <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/maserati" rel="noreferrer noopener">Maserati</a>, <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/fiat" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fiat</a>, and <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/chrysler" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chrysler</a> among its brands – launched in Australia in late 2024 with the C10 as a more affordable rival to the <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/tesla" rel="noreferrer noopener">Tesla Model Y</a>. </p> <p>The 2024 <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/leapmotor/b10" rel="noreferrer noopener">Leapmotor C10</a> was released with a seven-year/160,000km warranty, with an eight-year warranty on its battery pack, as well as five years of roadside assistance and capped price servicing.</p> <p>For the 2025 model year – which includes the new <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-news/2025-leapmotor-c10-reev-hybrid-suv-lands-in-australia-with-1150km-range" rel="noreferrer noopener">C10 REEV</a> hybrid – the automaker has wound back its warranty to six years and 150,000km. </p> <p><strong>Hundreds of new car deals are available through </strong><em><strong>CarExpert</strong></em><strong> right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. </strong><a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/new-car-deals/" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Browse now</strong></a>.</p> <img data-reference="image" data-document-id="cms/api/amp/image/AA1FY2un"> <p>The update doesn’t impact the warranty on existing 2024 model year Leapmotor vehicles. </p> <p>The change does bring eight years of roadside assistance and eight years of capped price servicing – both three-year upgrades from the previous five years. </p> <p>The eight-year/160,000km battery warranty remains unchanged. </p> <p>“With the newer models and looking through the life cycle of a customer, we felt that from an aftersales perspective, the capped price servicing and roadside assist – a lot of customers felt that they needed that as well,” Andy Hoang, head of Leapmotor Australia, told media including <em>CarExpert</em>. </p> <img data-reference="image" data-document-id="cms/api/amp/image/AA1xOQtW"> <p>“So we rebalanced to try and give a more comprehensive package across all elements rather than the warranty itself.” </p> <p>While it matches the six-year/150,000km warranty from Chinese rival <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/byd" rel="noreferrer noopener">BYD</a>, Leapmotor’s shorter warranty comes at a time when most brands in Australia are adding to the length of their offering. </p> <p><a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/hyundai" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hyundai</a> is one of the latest to do so, announcing a seven-year, unlimited-km warranty across its range – backdated to January 1, 2025 – matching South Korean sister brand <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/kia" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kia</a>, which introduced a seven-year warranty way back in 2014.</p> <p><a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/gwm" rel="noreferrer noopener">GWM/Haval</a> offers a seven-year warranty, along with <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/skoda" rel="noreferrer noopener">Skoda</a>, KGM (previously <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/ssangyong" rel="noreferrer noopener">SsangYong</a>) and <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/ldv" rel="noreferrer noopener">LDV</a>, among others. </p> <img data-reference="image" data-document-id="cms/api/amp/image/AA1FY2uz"> <p>Japanese brand <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/mitsubishi" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mitsubishi</a> introduced a 10-year/200,00km warranty in 2020 – the longest new-vehicle warranty at the time. </p> <p><a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/mg" rel="noreferrer noopener">MG</a> introduced a 10-year/250,000 warranty on private purchases (non-commercial use vehicles) in 2024.</p> <p>This was beaten in early 2025 by <a href="https://www.carexpert.com.au/nissan" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nissan</a>, which now offers the longest new-car warranty in Australia, with a 10-year/300,000km offered for vehicles serviced at Nissan dealerships for the same period. </p>
