New Resident Evil 9 Requiem images have leaked online, revealing both first and third-person gameplay details and teasing a second playable character.
Itโs safe to say Resident Evil fans are in for a treat. After years of speculation, Summer Game Fest 2025 last week. The gameโs first official trailer instantly shot excitement through the community, with players already counting down the days to its release on February 27, 2026.
With the hype still going strong from the official announcement, it looks like fans are already getting an early look at even more Resident Evil 9 content. This time, a handful of leaked screenshots have made their way online, possibly a little earlier than planned.
New Resident Evil 9 Screenshots Leak Online
The new batch of images popped up on Resident Evil 9. According to their post, the demo ran for about 30 minutes and featured gameplay in both first and third person, something fans have been asking for ever since Village. Players will reportedly be able to swap between both perspectives at any time.
One of the most interesting reveals is the confirmation of a second playable character. While the official trailer focused on Grace, the leaked details mention a โfamiliar, fully armedโ character that players will be able to control. Although Capcom hasnโt officially confirmed who it is, many are already guessing itโs Leon Kennedy, given his rumored involvement and recent leaks.
In of gameplay, the Reddit explained that Grace explores a dark, eerie house using a lighter to see in the shadows. Thereโs a pretty intense scene where she gets attacked by a monstrous creature and has to heal herself with a syringe, but there apparently is no classic healing spray this time around. The visuals keep up that classic Resident Evil vibe, with tight, creepy hallways and plenty of tension.
The leak also mentions a lot of environmental interaction, like opening doors, turning on lights, and piecing together clues. The second playable character is said to be much more combat-focused, coming in fully loaded with weapons.
One of the images shows Grace checking out an art book with the title โShadow Ghostโ on the front.
Itโs important to mention that while these images look legit, they werenโt supposed to go live just yet. With the embargo apparently ending soon, itโs likely weโll get the official screenshots and more details directly from Capcom very shortly.
