A guy from Guyana in the form of Kevlon Anderson remains in line for his international debut after enjoying an outstanding season in domestic cricket. West Indies coach Daren Sammy spoke about his excitement, mentioning that he is looking forward to bringing Anderson into the top order for some stability. Hope has scored 1,726 runs in 38 Tests at an average of 26.74 with two centuries and five fifties.

One notable absentee from the 16-man squad is the celebrated seam bowler Kemar Roach, who has so far snared 284 Test wickets. Shamar Joseph is part of the team.
