Father’s Day is this Sunday, and the Classic City provides a variety of options to celebrate. Whether it is casual, fine-dining or just a beer, take time to appreciate the fathers in your life this weekend. 

Athentic Brewing Company

If dad doesn’t do fine-dining, surprise him this year with a casual setting. And yes, sports will be playing on the TVs. A Dad’s Day BBQ will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m on June 15. Musical guest Wade Newberry is set to play, along with yard games and "Son of a Sailor" dad-themed specialty cocktails. 

South Kitchen + Bar

A formal dining option with online reservations, this restaurant is known for sophisticated Southern cuisine, as well as their brunch services that offer biscuits and gravy. Located inside the old Georgian Hotel, diners can indulge in braised lamb, salmon cakes or bourbon glazed salmon. Incomplete parties are not seated until all guests arrive. 

George’s Lowcountry Table

For those wanting Southern comfort food and seafood, this New Orleans-inspired restaurant can satisfy those cravings. Known for their oysters and wine tastings, a fine-dining experience at George’s Lowcountry Tables must be reserved 24 hours in advance.

This casual and pet-friendly option with a patio offers pizzas, salads and a sandbox for children. Seasonal beers are offered and rotate frequently.

Condor Chocolates

The Ecuadorian cafe and chocolate shop offers various chocolate sets as well as coffee brews. Located in Five Points and downtown, this shop earned accolades for their pecan chocolate bars and was featured in Condé Nast Traveler. Chocolate and coffee is sold in bundles as well as in singles, working as a last-minute gift.
