Emmerdale's Ross Barton star teases unlikely ally as hopes to ' forces' with returning villager
With Robert Sugden's unexpected return, how will Ross Barton react?
Emmerdale actor Mike Parr expressed that he hopes Ross Barton "s forces" with former enemy Robert Sugden upon his return to the ITV soap.
Actor Mike Parr ed Barton back in 2013 where he initially played an unnamed man as he carjacked Laurel Thomas. He was later that year introduced as Ross, and became a full-time character until his departure in 2018.
Ross returned to the Dales in October last year after a six-year hiatus. He was first seen in an unlicensed boxing match with Billy Fletcher.
Viewers may recall that Ross originally left Emmerdale for a fresh start in Liverpool along with her son Sebastian who she shares with Robert Sugden.
Speaking of Robert, he left the soap in 2019 as he was charged with the murder of Lee Posner who had raped his sister Victoria Sugden.
He showed up on the wedding day of his ex-husband Aaron Dingle and John Sugden, and wasted no time in stating his intentions, as he said: "Every single second I was inside, I never stopped being in love with you."
As viewers questioned why Robert was out of prison, he told Aaron: "You already know that Lee got into a fight with his brother and hit his head on the day that I attacked him. If that hadn't happened, he might not have died when I did what I did."
The pair shared a kiss which Chas Dingle spotted, but Aaron went ahead and married John anyway while Robert ended up back in prison for missing his parole meeting.
While on Lorraine, actor Ryan Hawley) Robert, teased: "Robert's back. He's coming back to try and win Aaron back, he's going to put a stop to John."
Lorraine quickly interjected: "He's going to try" before Ryan corrected himself and replied: "He's going to try!".
Some viewers have wondered if now that Robert is back, his son Sebastian will return to the village. When Ross returned to the village alone last year, he revealed that Rebecca had sadly died and Seb was living with her aunt in Bristol.
Speaking to The Mirror, actor Mike Parr shared: "That was my first question. I thought surely either we are gonna be fighting over this kid or we will try to get him back. I don't know which I would rather, I mean I tried to shoot him, he stole my weed the last time he was there."
Ross became somewhat of a father figure to Seb, but Mike hopes that Ross and Robert could form an unlikely alliance as he continued: "They are always fighting but they might be a good team to work together, and maybe it would be good if they did forces."
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
